WHAT IS SONOGRAPHY ?

IMG_9151.jpg

Sonography is a diagnostic imaging modality that uses high-frequency sound waves to create images of the area being evaluated, which could include: internal organs, muscles, tendons or blood vessels.

Ultrasound is used very frequently for diagnostic purposes as it does not expose the patient to radiation and it is the most inexpensive modality.

Sonographers work in multiple specialties and various clinical settings.

Due to this, there is a wide variety of exams that can be performed by a sonographer.
